Honda City Spark Plug Replacement — When & Cost
Honda City iridium spark plugs last 60,000–80,000 km. Worn plugs raise fuel consumption and cause idle instability.
The Honda City uses iridium spark plugs from the factory. These last significantly longer than standard copper plugs but will eventually wear out — and when they do, you'll notice it in fuel consumption and idle quality.
Replacement interval
Iridium plugs: 60,000–80,000 km. Standard copper plugs (if used as replacement): 20,000–30,000 km. Strongly recommend sticking with iridium for replacement.
Signs spark plugs need replacing
Engine misfiring (rough running, shaking at idle). Higher-than-normal fuel consumption. Slower acceleration. Hard starting especially when the engine is cold.
Cost in Malaysia
Iridium plugs per set (4 pcs, aftermarket NGK/Denso): RM80–RM150. Honda genuine iridium set: RM120–RM200. Labour (4 plugs): RM60–RM100. Total all-in: RM150–RM300. GN2 turbo: same plugs but slightly tighter to access — labour may be RM100–RM150.
