Audi A3
2013–present · 1.4 TFSI / 2.0 TFSI / 40 TFSI
The Audi A3 8V (2013–2020) and 8Y (2021+) use the EA888 TFSI engine family. The 7-speed DQ200 dry-clutch S-tronic on 1.4T variants is the single biggest reliability concern — judder, creep and mechatronic failure are well-documented. The 2.0T DQ250 wet-clutch S-tronic is far more reliable. EA888 oil consumption and carbon buildup on intake valves are common across all TFSI variants.

Audi A4
2016–present · 2.0 TFSI / 40 TFSI (EA888)
The Audi A4 B9 (2016–2023) and B9.5 (2024+) are the most popular Audi sedan in Malaysia. All Malaysian-spec B9 A4 use the 2.0 TFSI EA888 Gen 3 engine with the DQ381 7-speed wet S-tronic — far more reliable than the older DQ200 in A3. Main concerns: EA888 high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failures, oil consumption, carbon buildup and S-tronic mechatronic unit at high mileage.

Audi A6
2011–present · 2.0 TFSI / 3.0 TFSI / 55 TFSI
The Audi A6 C7 (2011–2018) and C8 (2018+) are executive sedans popular among Malaysian business owners. C7 2.0 TFSI and 3.0 TFSI supercharged; C8 moves to turbo TFSI. Quattro variants add Haldex/Torsen AWD fluid service. C7 air suspension (optional) is a high-cost maintenance item. EA888 carbon buildup and HPFP are the main concerns across all variants.

Audi Q3
2012–present · 1.4 TFSI / 2.0 TFSI / 35 TFSI / 45 TFSI
The Audi Q3 8U (2012–2018) and F3 (2019+) are compact SUVs. 8U uses 1.4T DQ200 (dry clutch) or 2.0T DQ250 (wet clutch). F3 uses the newer 1.5T/2.0T with DQ200 (FWD) or DQ381 (quattro). DQ200 judder is the main complaint on 1.4T variants. EA888 oil consumption and carbon buildup apply across all TFSI variants. quattro Haldex fluid every 40,000 km is often overlooked.

Audi Q5
2008–present · 2.0 TFSI / 40 TFSI / 45 TFSI (EA888)
The Audi Q5 8R (2008–2017) and FY (2017+) are the most popular Audi SUV in Malaysia. All Q5 come with quattro AWD — Haldex coupling fluid every 40,000 km is critical. 8R 2.0 TFSI has known timing chain issues on early variants (pre-2012). FY EA888 Gen 3 is more reliable. HPFP, carbon buildup and S-tronic mechatronic unit are the key watchpoints. Quattro Haldex fluid often neglected — causes AWD binding and coupling wear.

Audi Q7
2006–present · 3.0 TFSI / 55 TFSI / 4.2 FSI V8 (4L only)
The Audi Q7 4L (2006–2015) and 4M (2015+) are large 3-row SUVs. 4L uses 3.0 TFSI supercharged or 4.2 FSI V8 — air suspension standard. 4M uses 3.0 TFSI turbocharged, more efficient. Air suspension (Audi Adaptive Air Suspension) on all variants is the highest-cost maintenance item. 4L supercharger belt and 4.2 V8 timing chain are additional watchpoints. Quattro Torsen centre diff on 4M vs Haldex on some 4L.
