BMW 5 Series Power Steering Malaysia
F10/G30 EPS — no hydraulic fluid. G30 offers optional Integral Active Steering (rear wheel steering) — requires ISTA for fault diagnosis. Common: EPS warning, steering pull. Malaysia repair RM 800–2,500.
EPS — No Fluid, But More Complex
- F10 and G30 use EPS — no power steering fluid to check or change
- EPS motor failure: RM 800–2,500
- G30 optional Integral Active Steering (rear wheel): ISTA for fault diagnosis

Integral Active Steering — G30
Some G30 540i and the M5 Competition use Integral Active Steering — the rear wheels steer slightly in the opposite direction at low speed (improves turning circle) and same direction at high speed (improves stability). This system has an additional rear steering rack that can develop play at 100,000+ km. Diagnosis requires ISTA. Replacement of the rear steering rack: RM 4,000–8,000.
