N55 Charge Pipe Connection
The N55 turbo outlet charge pipe on the F10 535i is made of plastic and has a rubber coupling. Under boost pressure and heat cycling, the plastic hardens and the coupling splits — causing a loud pop and immediate loss of boost. This is usually heard as a gunshot under hard acceleration. The charge pipe upgrade to silicone is popular and costs RM 300–450 at 4M Car Care — well worth it on a 535i.
