Pad Life — Heavier Car
- Front pads: 40,000–60,000 km (heavier than 3 Series = faster wear)
- Rear pads: 50,000–80,000 km
- OEM pads (Textar/Brembo): RM 250–450/axle
- G30 electronic rear caliper: ISTA piston reset mandatory
- M Sport models: uprated pads available, RM 350–600/axle
Electronic Rear Caliper — G30
The G30 rear brake calipers use an electric motor to apply the parking brake rather than a cable. When replacing rear brake pads, the caliper piston must be retracted electronically via ISTA — it cannot be pushed back manually with a C-clamp as on older vehicles. Any workshop claiming to service G30 rear brakes without ISTA is doing it wrong and may damage the caliper motor.
