Odyssey RC1 oil leaks are most common at the valve cover gasket and oil drain plug. The 2.4L engine has more sealing surfaces than a 1.5L — a thorough oil leak inspection at every major service is worthwhile.
Common leak sources and costs
Valve cover gasket: RM180–280 (larger engine = more gasket surface). Drain plug rethread or replacement: RM40–80. VTC solenoid o-ring: RM90–160. Oil pan gasket (rare but serious): RM350–600. Oil on the exhaust of an 8-seater MPV creates a burning smell that fills the entire cabin — investigate promptly.
