The Honda Odyssey sold in Malaysia is the RC1 (5th generation, 2.4L 6AT, 2014–2020) and RC4 hybrid. Both are positioned as premium family MPVs. This guide focuses on the RC1 as it is the most commonly serviced at our workshop.
RC1 vs RC4 — key differences
RC1 (2.4L 6AT): straightforward service — ATF DW-1, standard oil changes, traditional brakes. RC4 (Hybrid): regenerative braking reduces brake pad wear; hybrid battery adds complexity; higher cost for HV battery service.
