Honda Civic FC/FE 1.5T service intervals — engine oil every 5,000 km, CVT fluid, spark plugs, brake fluid. Keep the turbo healthy in Malaysia's heat.
The Civic 1.5T VTEC Turbo requires shorter oil change intervals than naturally-aspirated Hondas. Turbochargers run hot and cook oil faster — don't let anyone tell you to stretch to 10,000 km on regular synthetic.
Service interval table
Engine oil (0W-20 full-synthetic): every 5,000–7,500 km. CVT fluid (HCF-2): every 40,000–60,000 km. Cabin filter: every 10,000–15,000 km. Air filter: every 20,000–30,000 km. Brake fluid: every 2 years. Spark plugs (iridium): every 60,000–80,000 km. Coolant: every 3 years or 60,000 km.
FC vs FE — any differences?
The FE (2022+) uses the same 1.5T engine and CVT, so service intervals are identical. The FE does add Honda Sensing driver-assist systems — sensors and cameras should be checked at every service for alignment and cleanliness.
