Honda Civic Common Problems Malaysia (FC/FE)
Honda Civic 1.5T common issues: oil dilution, CVT judder, brake wear. What Malaysia owners need to know.

The Honda Civic FC (2016–2021) and FE (2022+) are hugely popular in Malaysia for their sporty feel and 1.5T turbo power. Here are the known weak spots every Civic owner should be aware of.
1. Oil dilution (early FC models)
Early FC Civics (2016–2018) had a documented issue where fuel mixed into the engine oil, especially on short trips where the engine doesn't reach full operating temperature. Shorten oil change intervals to 5,000–7,000 km if your driving is mostly short-distance.
2. CVT judder
Civic CVT judder at low speeds is noticeable, particularly when CVT fluid has never been serviced. Change CVT fluid every 40,000–60,000 km.
3. Brake wear
The Civic is heavier than the City, so front pads wear more quickly. Check pad thickness every 40,000 km.
