Toyota Hilux Service Schedule — AN120 & AN130 Complete Guide
Complete diesel service intervals for Hilux 2.4L (2GD-FTV) and 2.8L (1GD-FTV) — engine oil, fuel filter, glow plugs, diff oil, transfer case and DPF regeneration cycle.

Hilux diesel service intervals differ significantly from petrol cars. The 2GD-FTV (2.4L) and 1GD-FTV (2.8L) engines have diesel-specific components — DPF, fuel filter, glow plugs and separate drivetrain oils — that petrol service schedules completely miss.
Every 5,000 km — Minor Service
- Engine oil and filter (diesel-grade CI-4+ or DL-1)
- Tyre rotation
- Visual brake and fluid inspection
Every 10,000 km — Standard Service
- Engine oil and filter change
- Check DPF warning status (dashboard indicator)
- Fuel filter water separator drain
- Air filter inspection
Every 20,000 km
- Fuel filter replacement
- Cabin air filter replacement
- Brake fluid condition check
- Front and rear differential oil check
Every 40,000 km
- Glow plugs check/replace
- Front diff oil, rear diff oil and transfer case oil change
- AT/gearbox fluid change
- EGR valve inspection and clean if required
Every 80,000 km
- Coolant replacement (SLLC)
- Shock absorber inspection
- DPF professional inspection or chemical clean
Heavy-duty use (construction, plantation, frequent off-road): halve all intervals. Dusty environments clog fuel filters and air filters much faster than highway use.
