Glow plugs are heating elements that warm the diesel combustion chamber before starting — essential in Malaysia's early mornings and air-conditioned engine bays. A failed glow plug causes hard starting and white smoke.
Specifications
- 2GD-FTV: Denso DG-191 or equivalent (M10 thread)
- 1GD-FTV: Denso DG-192 or equivalent
- Quantity: 4 glow plugs (one per cylinder)
Testing Method
- Multimeter resistance test: good plug reads 0.5–2 ohms; open circuit = failed
- Scan tool: glow plug fault codes P0670–P0674
- Always replace all 4 at once — if one fails, others are near end of life
