• DPF status: OBD scan (P242F, P2002 codes), ask for Techstream DPF differential pressure reading
• Turbo: no whistle, no blue/grey smoke at startup or under acceleration
• 4WD: engage all modes (2H, 4H, 4L) and confirm smooth engagement
• Rear leaf springs: look for cracks, rust, sagging rear ride height
• Gearbox: smooth shifts in D, no shudder between 2nd–3rd gear
• Service records: fuel filter, ATF, transfer case oil — all must be on the list
