Use Toyota SLLC (Super Long Life Coolant), pink formula. Fortuner diesel coolant capacity: approximately 9.0L for 2.8L, 8.5L for 2.4L. Change every 4 years or 80,000 km. The diesel engine and turbo generate high thermal loads — degraded coolant accelerates corrosion of the aluminium cylinder head, water pump, and intercooler. Never use generic green or blue coolant — it's incompatible with Toyota OAT inhibitor chemistry and causes rapid corrosion.
