Fortuner 1GD-FTV 2.8L and 2GD-FTV 2.4L both use 5W-30 DL-1/C3 full synthetic diesel engine oil. Capacity: 7.0L (2.8L) / 6.5L (2.4L). Change every 10,000 km.
Fortuner Diesel Engine Oil — 2GD-FTV vs 1GD-FTV Specs
Fortuner AN160 comes with two diesel engines in Malaysia: 2.4L 2GD-FTV (240 Nm, 6AT) and 2.8L 1GD-FTV (450 Nm, 6AT). Both use 5W-30 API CJ-4/ACEA C3 (Toyota DL-1). Oil capacity: 2GD-FTV 6.7L with filter; 1GD-FTV 7.0L with filter. Change interval: every 10,000 km. Never use SN-rated petrol oil in these diesel engines — the DPF requires low-SAPS formulation. The 1GD-FTV 2.8L is the preferred engine for towing and long distance.
