Fortuner DPF — City Driving is the Enemy
Fortuner is often used in city driving — school runs, shopping, office commutes around Sri Damansara, Kepong, and Desa ParkCity. This creates a perfect DPF clogging scenario: short trips at low speeds prevent passive regeneration. The DPF warning light will eventually come on. Prevention: monthly highway drive at 80+ km/h for 30 minutes. If already clogged: Toyota Techstream forced regen (RM 150) or professional DPF cleaning (RM 350–500). A completely blocked DPF requires replacement (RM 3,500–6,000) — prevent this at all costs.
