Fortuner AN160 uses large ventilated discs front and rear. The heavy vehicle mass means heat management is critical. Disc warping is common after repeated emergency braking from highway speeds — especially when the Fortuner is loaded. Symptom: steering pulsation under braking. Minimum disc thickness: front 28 mm (new 30 mm), rear 16 mm (new 18 mm). Resurfacing is only viable if thickness is above minimum — otherwise replace. Cost: front pair RM 450–750, rear pair RM 350–550.
