Subaru XV Rocker Cover Gasket Malaysia

Rocker cover gasket leaks are among the most common oil leak complaints on the Subaru XV. The FB20 boxer has two horizontal cylinder banks, each with its own rocker cover and gasket (left bank and right bank). Oil seeps from hardened gaskets tend to drip downward toward the bottom of the engine and can be mistaken for other leaks. Replacement of both rocker cover gaskets is recommended if one is found leaking, as they age together.

  • XV rocker gasket: FB20/FB16 valve cover gasket same failure pattern as Forester — oil seepage at 80,000+ km; compact XV engine bay means valve cover access is slightly tighter than Forester; still a DIY-friendly job
  • XV e-Boxer rocker gasket: e-Boxer FB16 valve cover same as non-hybrid FB16; hybrid system does not affect VCG replacement; ensure hybrid system is powered down before working near engine — standard precaution for e-Boxer
