The Subaru XV FB20 boxer engine requires 0W-20 fully synthetic engine oil meeting API SP or SN specification. Capacity is approximately 4.5 litres with filter. The horizontally mounted oil filter on the boxer engine can be trickier to access and may drip during changes — use a proper drain pan. Change every 10,000 km in Malaysian conditions.
