Subaru XV Brake Pads Malaysia
Subaru XV brake pads typically last 40,000–60,000 km depending on driving style and traffic conditions in Malaysia. The XV's relatively heavier AWD weight can cause slightly faster wear than a comparable 2WD vehicle. Front pads wear faster than rear. Use OEM-specification or quality aftermarket pads — avoid very cheap pads that may not match the AWD braking balance. Inspect pad thickness at every service.
Subaru XV Brake Pads
- XV front pads: compact crossover — lighter than Forester; front pads last 40,000–60,000 km in mixed driving; city-only use wears pads faster; inspect every 20,000 km
- XV e-Boxer brake pads: regenerative braking extends pad life; mechanical pads less used; still check pad thickness at 40,000 km — even light mechanical use can cause uneven wear if caliper pins are seized
- XV brake squeal: common in humid morning conditions; brief squeal on first braking is normal; persistent squeal means pads are wearing — check thickness; also check if wear indicators are contacting disc
- XV rear pads: solid rear discs on XV; rear pads last longer than front (60,000–80,000 km); don't neglect rear inspection — rear caliper pistons can seize on high-mileage XV
