Subaru XV Radiator Service Malaysia
The Subaru XV radiator cools the FB20 boxer engine. In Malaysia's heat, radiator performance is critical. Common issues include coolant leaks from hose connections and the radiator end tanks, and fins blocked by road debris or insects. Flush the cooling system when changing coolant and inspect hoses for cracking at every service. A clogged or leaking radiator can quickly lead to overheating, risking damage to the boxer engine.

Subaru XV Radiator
- XV FB20/FB16 radiator: aluminium core; compact crossover cooling; radiator smaller than Forester due to XV compact body; inspect at every major service; coolant change every 80,000 km or 3 years
- XV e-Boxer radiator: dual cooling circuits; inverter circuit uses a small secondary radiator or heat exchanger; if e-Boxer warning light is on with no engine temp issue — check inverter coolant level; inverter overtemp causes hybrid shutdown
- XV radiator bug damage: Malaysia conditions — XV front grille collects bugs and debris; clogged radiator fins reduce cooling efficiency; clean radiator fins with low-pressure water (not high-pressure jet — bends fins) at each major service
- XV coolant type: use Subaru-specified Super Long Life Coolant (blue) or equivalent OEM coolant; do not use generic green coolant — incompatible with Subaru aluminium alloys and can cause corrosion
