Subaru XV Power Steering Service Malaysia
The Subaru XV uses Electric Power Steering (EPS) — there is no hydraulic fluid to service. EPS is generally maintenance-free but can develop issues such as heavy steering, off-centre feel, or a steering angle sensor fault code. These are typically diagnosed via computer scan. If the EPS warning light comes on, have it scanned immediately as the XV's AWD system can be affected by steering sensor inputs.

Subaru XV Power Steering
- XV EPS: all XV GT and GP variants use electric power steering; no fluid maintenance; EPS provides variable assist — lighter at low speed for parking, firmer at highway speed; EPAS light indicates fault
- XV steering vagueness: if XV steering feels vague or numb — most common cause is worn front lower control arm bushings, not EPS; check bushings and wheel alignment before assuming EPS failure
- XV EPS torque sensor: torque sensor in steering column measures driver input; if sensor fails, EPS cannot calculate correct assist; symptom is intermittent power loss in steering; torque sensor is replaceable without full steering rack replacement
- XV steering noise: click or pop from steering column on XV — often upper strut bearing (not EPS); clunk when turning at low speed — often lower ball joint; diagnose mechanical cause before EPS software update
