Subaru XV Oil Leak Malaysia
Subaru XV oil leaks most commonly originate from the rocker cover gaskets on the left and right cylinder banks of the boxer engine. Because the cylinders are horizontal, oil seeps from these gaskets tend to run down toward the bottom of the engine bay and can be harder to spot than on conventional upright engines. Inspect both rocker cover seals at every service. Early seep repair is far cheaper than a full reseal.

Subaru XV Oil Leak
- XV oil leak common points: rocker cover gaskets on FB20/FB16 (age-related), PCV hose connections (oil mist from crankcase), and valve stem seals (higher mileage); XV compact engine bay concentrates heat — accelerates gasket ageing
- XV e-Boxer oil leak: e-Boxer has conventional engine oil circuit and separate hybrid inverter coolant; if oil leak on e-Boxer, distinguish between engine oil (dark brown) and inverter coolant (different colour and water-based) — very different repairs
- XV oil level check: check oil every 2,000 km — boxer engine oil consumption increases with age; a slight oil drop between changes is normal; if dropping more than 0.3L per 5,000 km, investigate source
- XV rocker gasket replacement: all 4 rocker cover gaskets on boxer engine should be replaced together; labour cost is same whether replacing one or all — saves future visits; combined with valve inspection at high mileage
