Subaru XV Fuel Injector Service Malaysia
The Subaru XV FB20 uses port fuel injectors, one per cylinder. Injector fouling is less severe than with direct injection, but carbon deposits and poor fuel quality (common in Malaysia) can still cause injector buildup over time. Symptoms include rough idle, slight misfires, and increased fuel consumption. Fuel injector cleaning is typically recommended around 80,000–100,000 km as a preventive measure.

Subaru XV Fuel Injector
- XV FB20/FB16 injectors: port injection; FB16 has 4 injectors; FB20 has 4 injectors; low fouling risk on well-maintained XV; if XV has rough idle at cold start — check injectors before condemning other components
- XV e-Boxer injectors: FB16 e-Boxer uses same port injectors as non-hybrid; hybrid motor does not affect injector function; misfire codes on e-Boxer XV diagnosed same as non-hybrid; isolate which cylinder misfires with SSM4
- XV injector service interval: clean injectors at 100,000 km as preventive maintenance; XV city driving with short trips most likely to cause injector fouling; injector cleaner additive in tank every 30,000 km reduces service interval need
