Subaru XV Engine Mount Malaysia
The Subaru XV FB20 boxer engine has a unique flat, low centre of gravity, and its engine mounts are designed for the horizontal layout. Worn engine mounts cause excessive vibration, especially noticeable at idle and during gear changes on the Lineartronic CVT. Engine mount replacement is more involved on the XV due to the boxer's low-slung position. Inspect mounts at 80,000 km or if vibration increases.

Subaru XV Engine Mount
- XV engine mount: FB20/FB16 boxer; 4 mounts; city driving with frequent stop-start puts more thermal cycles on mounts than highway use; check at 80,000 km; vibration at idle is first sign
- XV clunk on gear change: thunk sound when engaging D or R on XV CVT is classic worn engine mount; do not ignore — mounts prevent drivetrain components from clashing; replace promptly
- XV e-Boxer mount: electric motor adds mass; e-Boxer mounts may wear slightly earlier than non-hybrid; if XV e-Boxer develops vibration, check mounts alongside hybrid system health
- XV mount replacement: OEM or quality aftermarket; avoid cheap mounts that harden quickly in Malaysia heat; polyurethane mounts are stiffer but more durable — suitable for XV if minor NVH increase is acceptable
