Subaru XV CV Joint Malaysia
The Subaru XV Symmetrical AWD system uses CV joints on all four halfshafts — two front and two rear. A worn or damaged CV joint typically presents as a clicking sound during tight turns (front) or vibration at speed. CV joint boots should be inspected at every service for cracking or grease leakage. In Malaysia, dust and rough roads accelerate boot wear. Replacing a torn boot early is far cheaper than replacing the entire CV joint.

Subaru XV CV Joint
- XV CV joints: compact crossover with 4-wheel CV joints; urban driving with potholes stresses CV joints more than highway use; outer CV boot inspection at 60,000 km; common for boots to crack on urban XV by 80,000 km
- XV e-Boxer CV: e-Boxer adds electric motor assistance but does not change CV joint architecture; AWD function on e-Boxer XV still relies on mechanical CV joints on all 4 axles
- XV boot inspection under car: during oil change, inspect CV boots from underneath; fresh grease splatter near wheel = boot cracked; if grease is black (mixed with dirt) = boot has been cracked for some time — inspect joint for wear
- XV axle shaft replacement: if inner CV joint is worn — replace entire axle shaft assembly (more economical than rebuilding inner CV on most Subaru); OEM or quality remanned axle shafts available
