Subaru XV Brake Fluid Malaysia
Subaru XV uses DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid. In Malaysia's humid climate, brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, lowering its boiling point and increasing the risk of brake fade. Subaru recommends flushing brake fluid every 2 years regardless of mileage. The XV's AWD system includes a rear differential brake-based torque management, making fluid quality particularly important.

Subaru XV Brake Fluid
- XV DOT 4: standard brake fluid; e-Boxer hybrid XV has regenerative braking — mechanical brake fluid change still required every 2 years; hybrid braking does not eliminate hydraulic circuit
- XV brake fluid level: check monthly; low fluid level usually means worn brake pads (pads wear down, caliper pistons extend, fluid level in reservoir drops); if level is low with thick pads remaining, suspect a leak
- XV brake fluid flush: full flush (pressure bleed or vacuum bleed) is better than partial top-up — all old fluid removed; fresh fluid at all four calipers and master cylinder
- XV EyeSight brake: EyeSight AEB uses the same brake hydraulic circuit; fresh brake fluid ensures consistent AEB pressure delivery; do not skip brake fluid change on EyeSight-equipped XV
