X1 uses EPS — no power steering fluid to change. F48 sDrive/xDrive FWD-based platform: lighter steering feel. EPS warning at 80,000–100,000 km. Malaysia EPS repair RM 600–1,600. Compact vehicle = EPS motor under less stress than X5 — typically lasts longer.

The F48 X1 EPS requires no servicing. The most common EPS issue is a heavy or dead steering feel at parking speeds — almost always a failed EPS motor or power module rather than a rack issue. ISTA can read EPS motor current draw and identify deteriorating motor windings before complete failure. Repair: RM 700–1,500 for the EPS motor assembly.
