X1 Battery — xDrive Models Drain Faster
The xDrive X1 has higher electrical demand than the sDrive variant — the Haldex coupling unit and additional AWD control modules add constant parasitic load. Combined with Malaysia's heat, expect 3–4 year battery life on xDrive models. Never replace with a standard flooded battery — AGM only. Always register the new battery with ISTA immediately after fitting; without registration, the alternator continues charging at a rate suited to the old battery, shortening the new battery's life.
