BMW 3 Series Power Steering Malaysia — F30/G20
F30/G20 uses EPS — no hydraulic fluid. Common faults: EPS warning, steering pull, vibration through wheel. F30 Footwell Module (FRM) failure can affect EPS. ISTA diagnosis required. Malaysia repair RM 700–2,000.
Electric Power Steering — No Fluid
- F30 and G20 both use EPS — there is no power steering fluid
- EPS motor failure common at 100,000+ km
- Symptoms: steering feels heavy, warning light, steering pull
- Malaysia EPS repair: RM 700–2,000
Active Steering (Some Variants)
Some F30 variants and most G20 models offer Variable Sport Steering or Integral Active Steering. These systems have additional electronic components that can fail. When the EPS warning light illuminates, bring the car in for ISTA diagnostic immediately — do not attempt to drive with EPS partially functional, as steering can become unpredictably heavy at low speed.
