BMW 3 Series Battery Replacement Malaysia — AGM + IBS
F30/G20 battery in boot — AGM only, never standard flooded or EFB. IBS sensor registration via ISTA mandatory after replacement. Without registration the charging system overcharges. OEM Varta or Exide AGM 90Ah. Malaysia installed cost RM 600–1,000.

Why Registration Matters
Skipping ISTA battery registration means the alternator continues to charge the new battery at the old battery's profile. This overcharges the new AGM and can destroy it within 6–12 months. Registration tells the DME the battery is new and resets the charging algorithm. Never skip this step.
