Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) on Yaris — What It Does and Maintenance
Yaris XP210 includes Toyota Safety Sense as standard — a forward-facing camera + millimetre-wave radar combination unit mounted behind the windscreen. Features active in Malaysia: Pre-Collision System (PCS), Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Automatic High Beams (AHB), Radar Cruise Control. Maintenance notes:
- Never tint the windscreen area directly in front of the TSS camera — it blocks radar and camera function
- Windscreen replacement: must be done with an OEM or Toyota-approved glass; non-OEM glass changes the optical path and requires recalibration
- TSS recalibration after any windscreen, bumper, or front camera impact: RM 300–600
- Clean the camera area on the windscreen regularly — dust, water spots, or road film reduce system sensitivity
