Yaris 2NR-FKE uses 4 iridium spark plugs (NGK ILFR5B-11), rated 80,000 km. In Malaysia replace at 60,000–70,000 km for optimal performance.
Yaris Spark Plugs — Iridium at 80,000 km
Yaris 2NR-FKE petrol: 4 spark plugs, copper type at 40,000 km or iridium at 80,000 km. The 2NR-FKE is a responsive engine — worn spark plugs show up as flat spots during acceleration. The Yaris Hybrid (2ZR-FXE): 4 spark plugs at same intervals but the engine cycles on and off more frequently, putting more ignition cycles per km than a conventional petrol engine. Iridium is strongly recommended for the hybrid. Cost: 4 pcs iridium RM 140–240.
