Toyota Yaris Oil Leak Guide
Yaris common oil leak: valve cover gasket and crankshaft front seal. Small-displacement engine leaks are inexpensive to fix — don't ignore minor seeps.

Yaris Oil Leak — Common Seal Points
Yaris petrol common oil leak points: valve cover gasket (most common at 80,000–100,000 km), camshaft seal, crankshaft front seal, VVT-i oil control valve seal. The Yaris Hybrid has an additional seal point: the junction of the engine with the motor-generator housing. Oil leaks in the hybrid that contaminate the MG housing are more serious — they can damage MG1/MG2 insulation. Address any oil leak on the hybrid promptly. Valve cover gasket replacement: RM 80–150. Crankshaft seal: RM 250–400.
Oil Leak Detection — Toyota Engines
Common Toyota engine oil leak points: valve cover gasket (most frequent — brown residue on top of engine), camshaft oil seals, crankshaft front seal (oil on timing cover), and the oil drain plug (overtightened at previous service). For Hilux/Fortuner diesel, also check the turbo oil feed and return lines. Any oil leak in the timing belt area on belt-driven engines is critical — oil-soaked belts snap. Valve cover gasket replacement costs RM 120–250 at independent workshops.
