Yaris petrol: disc warping is rare due to the light vehicle weight (1,050 kg). Minimum disc thickness: front 20 mm (new 22 mm), rear 8 mm (new 10 mm). Yaris Hybrid: disc surface rust is a more common issue than warping — because regenerative braking reduces mechanical disc engagement, the disc surface doesn't self-clean as often. This surface rust causes harsh brake pedal feel and noise on the first application of brakes each morning. Fix: pedal-operated 'rust scrub' (drive at low speed and apply brakes firmly several times).
