Yaris petrol A/C: belt-driven compressor — same diagnosis as any petrol car (refrigerant, cabin filter, condenser fan). Yaris Hybrid A/C: electrically-driven scroll compressor using POE (polyol ester) refrigerant oil — critical difference. If the hybrid A/C compressor oil is topped up with non-POE mineral oil, it damages the compressor seals. Always specify HFO-1234yf refrigerant oil for hybrid models (or confirm which refrigerant variant your Yaris uses). A/C regas: RM 150–250.
