Here is what to check before purchasing a used Vellfire. Pre-Purchase Checklist
- Hybrid battery SOH scan (Toyota Techstream): critical — a degraded battery costs RM 4,000–18,000 to fix
- Power sliding door test (both sides): open/close 5 times each, check for hesitation or reversal
- Aircond front and rear: both must blow cold independently
- Underbody inspection: check for oil leaks, rust (especially on accident-repaired units), uneven chassis seam sealing
- CVT/AT: check for shudder at 40–60 km/h during test drive
- Check service history — mileage manipulation is common on popular models like Vellfire
- Shock absorber test: push each corner down firmly, car should rebound once and stop
