Vellfire Coolant Guide
Vellfire has two separate cooling circuits — the standard engine coolant circuit and the hybrid inverter coolant circuit. Both must be maintained independently. Engine coolant: Toyota Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC), pink, rated for 160,000 km or 8 years first fill. Inverter coolant: Toyota Genuine Inverter Coolant (also pink but different formulation) — change every 80,000 km or 4 years. Never mix the two systems or use generic coolant in either circuit.
Warning Signs of Coolant Issues
- Temperature gauge rising above normal: top up engine coolant immediately
- Hybrid warning light + cooling fan running at rest: inverter coolant may be low
- Sweet smell from engine bay: coolant leak — do not drive, tow to workshop
- Cost to flush and refill (engine circuit): RM 150–250
