Toyota Vellfire CVT / 8AT Fluid Change Guide Malaysia
Vellfire petrol uses 8AT with ATF WS (7.8L). Hybrid uses e-CVT with Toyota Transaxle Fluid FV. Both need a change every 60,000 km. Low-speed shudder is the number one warning sign.
Vellfire CVT / AT Fluid Guide
Vellfire H30 uses an e-CVT (electric continuously variable transmission) paired with the hybrid system — it uses Toyota Genuine Transaxle Fluid FV, not conventional CVT fluid. The H40 Vellfire dropped the e-CVT and uses a conventional 8-speed automatic (Direct Shift-8AT) requiring Toyota ATF Type T-IV or ATF WS (7.8L capacity). Confusing these two fluids is a serious error — using the wrong fluid can damage the transmission irreversibly.
Change Intervals
- H30 e-CVT (Transaxle Fluid FV): every 60,000 km
- H40 8AT (ATF WS, 7.8L): every 40,000–60,000 km

- Symptom of degraded fluid: shudder at 40–60 km/h, delayed engagement, rough shifts
