Vellfire H30 uses a NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) high-voltage battery pack located under the second-row seat — same placement as Alphard H30. The H40 uses a lithium-ion battery pack. Both are rated for 10 years or 200,000 km under Toyota's hybrid warranty (check your individual policy). In Malaysian conditions the H30 NiMH battery typically lasts 150,000–200,000 km before significant capacity loss. Heat is the primary enemy — parking in shade or a covered carpark significantly extends battery life.
