Vellfire Oil Leak — Common Sources and Fixes
Oil leaks on Vellfire (H30 and H40) most commonly originate from the valve cover gasket, camshaft oil seals, crankshaft rear seal, and the oil pan gasket. On higher-mileage H30 engines, the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) oil pressure control valve O-ring is a known leak point — it causes oil to seep down the front of the engine and can be mistaken for a timing cover leak. On the H40 T24A-FTS turbo, the turbo oil feed line banjo bolt seal is an additional potential leak point.
- Valve cover gasket replacement: RM 200–350 parts + RM 100–150 labour
- VVT solenoid O-ring: RM 20–50 parts — labour-intensive as front cover must be accessed
- Any visible oil leak should be assessed — never ignore oil on the undercarriage
