Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Gearbox Fluid Malaysia (6AT & Transfer Case)
Prado 6AT uses ATF WS; front and rear differentials and transfer case need separate fluid changes — full schedule and Malaysia cost guide.
Prado uses a 6-speed automatic (A750F on older TZJ150 petrol; A960E on 1GD-FTV diesel). Toyota specifies fluid change every 40,000 km — use Toyota ATF WS only. Non-WS fluids cause shudder and premature clutch wear in Toyota's transaxles.
Gearbox Fluid Service
- ATF WS fluid change (A960E 1GD-FTV): RM 200–350 — drain-and-fill method; 3 exchanges for a full flush
- Do NOT use generic ATF Dexron — Toyota specifies WS; wrong fluid leads to shifting hesitation and shudder
