1KD-FTV requires 5W-30 or 5W-40 diesel-spec oil at 7.7L. DPF-compatible low-ash (C2/C3) oil is essential — wrong oil clogs the DPF.
Prado 1GD-FTV is a 2.8L turbocharged diesel — same engine as the Hilux Rogue and Fortuner diesel. Use 0W-30 or 5W-30 fully synthetic diesel-rated oil (API CK-4 or CJ-4). Toyota Genuine Diesel Oil 0W-30 is the first choice.
