Innova Engine Mount — Diesel Vibration Issues
Diesel engines produce more vibration than petrol engines — the Innova 1GD-FTV's compression ignition combustion cycle creates larger vibration pulses than a petrol 1TR-FE. Engine mounts therefore wear faster on diesel Innovas. Signs of worn mounts: noticeable vibration through the steering wheel and floor at idle; vibration surge when engaging Drive or Reverse from Park; clunking sound on hard acceleration. Inspect at 80,000 km. Cost: RM 200–450 per mount, typically 2–3 mounts need replacement.
