Innova EGR Valve — Carbon Build-Up and Cleaning
EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve recirculates exhaust gases back into the intake to reduce NOx emissions. In city driving conditions, carbon from exhaust deposits on the EGR valve and cooler, eventually restricting or blocking the valve. Symptoms: rough idle, hesitation at low RPM, black smoke, reduced power. Service: EGR valve cleaning every 60,000 km (RM 150–250). If the EGR valve is stuck open: rough idle and fuel consumption spike. If stuck closed: DPF overloading and potential emissions failure. At our workshop we clean rather than replace wherever possible.
