Toyota Innova DPF Cleaning Guide Malaysia
Innova DPF warning light on? Short city trips cause DPF clogging. Active regeneration vs forced regen vs professional wash — what to do and cost.

Innova DPF — Prevention and Cleaning
The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) traps soot and needs to regenerate periodically at highway speeds (above 80 km/h, sustained). Innova owners who only do city driving in Sri Damansara, Kepong and Desa ParkCity are most at risk. Prevention: once per month, take your Innova for a 30-minute highway drive above 80 km/h to allow passive regeneration. If the DPF warning light is on: perform a forced regeneration using Toyota Techstream (RM 150) or a professional DPF cleaning service (RM 300–500). Do not ignore the DPF light — clogging past a critical point means the filter must be replaced (RM 3,000–5,000).
