Toyota Camry EPS (Electric Power Steering) Problems & Fix

Both XV50 and XV70 Camry use Electric Power Steering (EPS) — there is no power steering fluid to top up. EPS problems manifest as heavy steering, pulling, or a warning light on the dash.
Common EPS Issues
- Heavy steering (EPS motor assist reduced) — check battery voltage first
- Steering pulls to one side — usually alignment or tyre pressure, not EPS
- EPS warning light (P) on dash — scan for fault codes before any repair
- Steering column noise (clicking/grinding) — typically column bearing or universal joint
