GLE Alternator — W166 Belt-Driven vs V167 EQ Boost ISG
W166 GLE M276 uses a conventional smart alternator driven by the serpentine belt — similar system to the S-Class W222 M276. V167 GLE M256 uses a 48V EQ Boost ISG integrated at the front of the engine between the engine and gearbox — same principle as the W223 S-Class. Standard alternator diagnosis applies to W166; V167 ISG faults require specialist XENTRY diagnosis and parts.
