Honda HR-V oil leaks are uncommon under 100,000 km. The three areas most likely to develop leaks are the valve cover gasket, the VTEC solenoid gasket (on NA models), and the crankshaft front or rear seal on older high-mileage units.
Diagnosis and repair cost
Valve cover gasket replacement: RM120–RM200. VTEC solenoid gasket: RM80–RM150. Crankshaft seal: RM200–RM350 depending on front or rear. If you smell burning oil with no visible leak, check the turbo oil return line on the RV 1.5T.
