Honda HR-V RU 1.5L and 1.8L both use 0W-20 fully synthetic. The RV 1.5T also specifies 0W-20. Using the correct grade protects the VTEC system and keeps the CVT working smoothly.
Recommended brands and intervals
Mobil 1 0W-20, Castrol EDGE 0W-20, Shell Helix Ultra 0W-20, or Honda MOCO. For the RV 1.5T, stick to 5,000–7,500 km. For the RU NA engines, 5,000–8,000 km is acceptable with full-synthetic. Oil capacity: approximately 3.7L (1.5L) or 4.0L (1.8L) including filter.
