Honda HR-V CVT fluid neglect is the number one cause of CVT judder complaints at our workshop. Both RU and RV use Honda HCF-2 — not the older HMMF. Do not let a workshop put HMMF or generic CVT fluid in an HR-V; the newer transmission requires the HCF-2 spec.
Change interval and cost
Change every 40,000–60,000 km. At Bandar Sri Damansara, a drain-and-fill with HCF-2 costs RM280–RM430 all-in. If the CVT already judders, a fluid change often resolves it — but if the judder continues after a fresh fill, the CVT unit itself may need attention.
